So you want to learn how to play speed card game; A fun card game for two players, where the goal is to get rid of all your cards. Let's learn how to play speed:

First of all, you need a deck of cards (obviously). After this deck has been properly shuffled, you hand out five cards to the players (if you want a real challenge, try playing with only four cards). These five cards will make up your "hand", and you have to make sure that your opponent can't see these cards.
Then you need to make a pile of cards for both players (15 cards in each pile). This pile will be used to replenish your "hand" during the speed card game. 

Now you need to make two more piles of cards. These don't have to be large at all. one card in each pile will do. This is going to be the "discard" pile. After this, you have to create yet another pile of cards. This one doesn't have to be as large as the previous one. five cards will do.

One important thing to note: you have to place all cards with their face down.

After you're done with setting up the game, you're ready learn how to play speed card game. Let's look at how you play:

Flip the two cards that make up your two discard piles. The goal is now to place one of your "hand" cards on top of one of the cards in the discard pile. The card you want to place has to be one number larger or one number smaller than the card that is in the discard pile.

After you've played a card, you have to take a new card from the 15-card pile you made earlier. This way, you always have five cards in your "hand".

If none of you can play any cards, you both flip a card from the 5-card piles you made earlier, and place this card in the discard pile. Hopefully, the game can now continue. This pile will probably run out during the game. But don't fret if that happens; all you do is shuffle the two discard piles, and use these cards to replenish the 5-card piles.

When you've finally played all your cards, you've won the game. Be sure to rub your victory in the face of your opponent.

The doubles rule: Let's say that you have a five of spades in the discard pile. If you have any fives, you are now allowed to place this card on top of the five of spades. If you have multiple fives, you are allowed to place all fives in the discard pile. This rule is not always used, and you should check with your opponent if you want this rule to be used.
